Calendar

Quick Hint

You can have events from only certain calendars display.  On the left side of the window you will see your calendars listed.  Click the colored box next to a calendar name to toggle the option to show that calendar's events on or off.  Toggling this off will hide the events from that calendar, allowing you to focus on the most important events.

Drive

Quick Hints

What's in a name?

The name or title you give to a document is very important.  Having a good title on your documents will help you find them when you need them.  The title should make sense to you - think about what the document is for, how it will be used, and what data is included.  If sharing the document, also consider what would make sense to the person you are sharing with.  Adding the date or some other identifier can help you differentiate that document from similarly-titled documents in your Drive.

Beware of large files when synchronizing

Media files (photos, videos, audio files) can be very large files.  Also, some PDF files can be large.  Keep this in mind when synchronizing files with your computer.  To conserve disk space, you may want to put media files in a separate folder in Drive and de-select that folder for synchronization.

Drive on the go

You can access Drive from your mobile device.  Install the Drive App from the App Store (for iOS devices) and the Google Play Store (for Android tablets and smartphones).

"Master" files

When you share a file and give "edit" permissions to someone, they can make changes to that file.  To preserve your original file, create a copy of the file and share the copy.  The original "master" file will remain in your sole control.  If something happens to the copied file, you can always go back to your "master" and share again.

What types of files can I save to Drive?

You can upload any file type - documents, videos, images - and save them in Drive.  Your MDIRSS Google Apps account has unlimited online storage.  You can use Drive to store any file you want, giving you access to those files from any computer, tablet, or smartphone that is connected to the Internet.
