Vision

Establish a vision statement linking the tools of technology with areas such as curriculum content, instructional practices, professional development strategies, and enhanced services. (If you have already established a school or district-wide vision statement you may use it rather than establishing a separate statement, so long as it encompasses the requirements above.)

MDIRSS 91 Vision

MDIRSS 91 envisions schools in which technology is seamlessly integrated in all teaching and learning. To achieve this, schools are electronically linked to each other and the world community. Identifying and deploying a wide array of effective educational applications ensures that computer technology's role in the MDIRSS 91 classroom is deemed vital and supportive of multiple learning tracks simultaneously. Awareness f the impact of technological change, awareness of what might constitute the full range of suitable options applicable to each set of circumstances and awareness of how to go about selecting and implementing options deemed appropriate as part of any problem solving exercise is one of the hallmarks of a successful student. Students are more confident and more engaged in their own personal learning goals because they enjoy one-to-one, ubiquitous access to appropriate learning technologies.  Our students leave our schools prepared to live in today's rapidly evolving society.

Parental involvement and collaboration in student education is essential in providing support and encouragement in their student's educational experiences. To facilitate this involvement, parents will be provided with opportunities to better understand the role and impact that technology has in their children's education. Parents will have electronic access to information such as student data and curriculum documents that will help support their engagement in their student's education. MDIRSS 91 recognizes the importance of fostering life-long learning for its community members.  We strive to provide technological resources for commumity members who wish to expand their own learning. Support for these endeavors will be provided through the use of the distance learming technologies availbale to MDIRSS 91.

We also see our students as well prepared and eager to assist in the future and ongoing development of these important learning tools and techniques.  Indeed, the next generation of educators is evolving in our classrooms today, and we see the tools, techniques and processes addressed here as rapidly evolving, but vastly unknown in terms of their full impact on society in the future.
