The integration and the appropriate support of technology will be used to achieve the following goals:

1. Students are confident, active and self-directed learners. Students collaborate, create and produce as they learn. They are enthusiastic, engaged in their work, adventuresome when it comes to trying out new ideas and willing to build a broad knowledge base often complimented by aggressive information gathering from the world around them.

2. Teachers guide and facilitate learning. Teachers actively coach students through their work, help set objectives and accept responsibility for their students' progress. Teachers integrate technology to reinforce the learning experience of each student.

3. Students and teachers have appropriate access to information.  Information is available quickly from a variety of sources, in a variety of modes, and at the times and places where students and teachers work.

4. Students explore important ideas.  Schools will develop essential concepts of the sciences, literature, history, mathematics, the arts, and human relations. Students apply skills to build their understanding of justice, the human environment, and the natural world.

5. Students learn in divers ways.  Education develops all of the aspects of human intelligence. Ideas are embodied in many forms to help students learn. Students build and express their knowledge through multimedia in various styles. Teachers use multiple methods of instruction.

6. People are life long learners. Learning occurs at home, in school, on the job, and at play. Schools foster the desire to learn that follows students well beyond the schoolhouse door.

7. Teachers are learners. Teachers recognize that they have the professional obligation to be active learners alongside their students and colleagues.

8. Students are collaborative learners. Collaborative learning is a means of providing enriching opportunities where students cooperate to discover concepts, build ideas and present their learning in a variety of ways.
