MEDMS

MEDMS - Maine Education Data Management System is where the State of Maine collects employment information on all school staff members and must be updated yearly. In August ALL Staff members in AOS 91 must log into the MEDMS website and update their information.

site is at https://www.medms.maine.gov/MEDMS/ (notice there is an "s" at the end of http) All of our staff members have a log in that starts with a school identification followed by the staff member's first initial and last name. Example: George Clooney who is working (we wish) at Conners-Emerson would have a user name of brhbrgclooney.  The leading portion of the user names by school are:

Conners/Emerson brhbr
Mount Desert Elementary mtds
Frenchboro School frbr
Pemetic Elementary swhbr
Tremont Consolidated trmnt
MDI High School md
Swans Island School S76
Trenton Elementary trntn
Islesford School crnby

Once logged in:
Select "My Profile" from the "Application" drop down menu. Click on the "Go" immediately to the right.
Select "Update" from the "Action" drop down menu. Click on the "Go" immediately to the right. Be sure to check and complete all information under all 3 tabs (pages): Personal, SAU, and Job Function. The information that staff generally need has been listed in PowerSchool - refer to your "Demographic Info" in PowerTeacher.

Personal Tab
Check for accuracy. If something is missing, please fill it in. Generally the educational information is correct. However, if you dispute the number of years of experience, please call Selena at 288-5049 x 315 for assistance.

SAUs Tab
Select the "Edit" button to the right of your school name. If you work at multiple schools you need to log in seperately under each school and complete this information.
To fill in the "Date Work Started" field, please go to the "Demographic Info" page in PowerTeacher and look under "Date Work Started - This year".
When filling out the "Other Responsibilities" portion, check only those boxes that apply if you are getting paid to do that work.

Job Functions Tab
Select the "Edit" button to the right of your school name. If you work at multiple schools, you need to log in seperately under each school and complete this information.
The information in the "box" has all been provided for you in PowerTeacher on the "Demographic Info" page.
*For salaries and % areas just put in whole numbers.....do not use any of the following $ % , .

Be sure to SAVE!

Teachers
Teachers only: need to also select the "Add Job" button and select the appropriate classroom teaching information and SAVE again!

YOU ARE DONE!

MEDMS can be finicky at times. If there are problems with the information you submitted, someone will likely contact you when they check for completeness.

Green Schools

AOS 91 Going Green???

Follow Our Progress -This link will list our accomplishments on the road to "Green"

With nearly all schools in our AOS doing, or planning on doing, various projects of various sizes utilizing wind and/or solar power it was thought that perhaps by combining resources and energy that the AOS would be well served to investigate the idea of going "Green" as a District.

Going "Green" could have multiple positive effects on the AOS both financially and educationally. This may be the perfect time to address this issue.

In the pdf  June 5, 2009 newsletter Senator Collins stated that

"By 2018,experts estimate that the cost of
energy, including gasoline, heating
oil and electricity, could consume as
much as 40 percent of the average
Maine household's income."

If this is correct, the average taxpayer will have enough difficulty dealing with their own energy bills, perhaps our schools will be producing their own power and not be adding to the people's burden.

The first introductory "Green Team" meeting was held on: June 2, 2009

Participation is open to all. As soon as we determine a schedule we will post how to participate. Your comments are welcomed.
