- DWM Change of Placement Checklist for Disciplinary Reasons
- A decision to change the placement of a special education student for disciplinary reasons requires the School to hold an IEP Team meeting within 10 school days of making that decision. At that meeting, the Team must undertake a Manifestation Determination, review or develop a Behavior Intervention Plan, and meet a number of other special education requirements. School Administrators (not the IEP Team) decide when student disciplinary removals amount to a Change of Placement!
- DWM Manifestation Determination
- A manifestation determination IEP Team meeting must be held within 10 school days of any decision to change the placement of a child with a disability because of a violation of a code of student conduct.
