Essential Standard:ISTE.3 Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information (3-5)

Students will know (nouns):

What is the research process?

What makes a good question to research?

What are good places to look for answers?

How to sift and find answers from search results. (Title, description- bolded keywords, URL) and where do I click? Can I get the answer from the description?

3rd Grade- brainstorming where to look and how to look for answers. Teachers may model using keywords to conduct internet searches ( http://www.kidrex.org )  

4th Grade- search, evaluate (recogizing interpretations/perspectives), and sift results for multiple questions (such as paired with SS.A1 where students are comparing/contrasting economies between two regions of Maine. ( http://libraries.maine.edu/mainedatabases/ )

5th Grade- synthesize information and process data (graphs, photographs, maps) to report results  SS.A1
